Hey, I’m Paula (she/her/hers).

I am a movement loving, neurodivergent woman; eternally optimistic and curious about everything. I am a nurturer who facilitates healing and has a habit of bringing about positive change wherever I go. I am based in Perth, Western Australia.

I am Breathwork practitioner and Parkour coach – a perfect match!

In Breathwork and Parkour we must trust in our bodies. We must trust in our power. We must meet our fears, up close and personal. We must lean in to our discomfort, and navigate what lies before us.

We do all of this in our own time, in our own way. Every breathe, every movement, brings us closer to understanding ourselves.

I am fascinated by the ways in which we can integrate healing with movement. I am sincerely passionate about empowering people to heal, step into their power and take up space through the energy of movement and the breath.

Breathwork has been a constant part of my life here in Perth for over 12 years.

It is such a wonderfully simple healing technique, and yet so powerful – it has changed my life. I would describe it as a gateway to access and work through my personal struggles, limiting beliefs, old stories, and unresolved trauma - an ongoing process. And it continues to give me the clarity and courage I need to keep showing up, moving forward and navigating my way through this life.

I first tried Breathwork for the first time in 2012, and in 2015 I started my training as a Transpersonal Breathwork Practitioner. I completed over 450 hours of face-to-face training and deep healing work, and am now an accredited practitioner under the Australian Breathwork Association and a member of their professional body.

Holding space for others is something that always fills me with such deep gratitude and respect for those people who trust me to do so. I am very comfortable holding space for others – through their fear, sadness, rage, terror, trauma, grief, jealousy, joy, love, forgiveness, acceptance…all of it.

I am continually blown away by our inner healer, and how much intelligence our bodies hold. I have had many life changing experiences just by tuning in to my body in a safe space, held in integrity and love by another.

I can be the person to do that for you too. It would be a privilege and an honour. My Breathwork sessions and workshops are held in Perth, North Fremantle, and online.

And then there’s Parkour.

I went to my first Parkour class with Perth Parkour in December 2016, after watching my 2 boys at classes for about 9 months, and I fell in love. The movements are reminiscent of a childhood full of running, jumping, climbing, swinging, playing. There is so much freedom, creativity, autonomy, and playfulness in Parkour, along with a very healthy dose of challenge and discomfort, that I don’t think I will ever stop. I will be 101 and still kicking it, training with my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Parkour has supported me to strengthen the relationship I have with my body, mind and soul, and trust in their capabilities. I have never felt so strong (at 42, with three young children), both physically and mentally.

I have worked as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer in the past, but none of that satisfied me in the way Parkour does. The clear integration of the physical and spiritual aspects of the practice, along with the parallels it has to the challenges and struggles we face in everyday life, are like nothing else I have experienced.

I am passionate about, and dedicated to, sharing this practice with as many people as I can. My Parkour workshops and classes are held in outdoor areas around Perth, Western Australia. I have also travelled to Victoria and North America to run classes and workshops.

If you are curious and inquisitive (like me), here’s a little more to know as of June 2024…

  • I live in Perth / Boorloo, on the unceded lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

  • I am 42 years old (43 in August). A Leo baby, with a moon in Sagittarius and an Aquarius rising, (just in case you were wondering 😉)

  • I am mum to 3 beautiful kids, and we unschool. Which basically means we live life as if school doesn’t exist (as much as we can) and learn as we do life. The learning never stops. My kids are 14, 11 and 8, and have never been to school.

  • I am a big advocate for respectful parenting, and believe that if we treated children better, the world would be a safer, happier place for everyone. I do not use punishments or rewards. Open, honest and respectful communication is key to my relationship with my children. We work in partnership everyday, and I see my role as guide, companion, facilitator, nurturer, space holder, friend.

  • I am in a relationship with a gorgeous, compassionate, playful and nurturing man (and BJJ coach) who gives the best hugs and makes me laugh every day. We have been together for about 3.5 years, and I still have a huge crush on him.

  • I am a queer bisexual and am attracted to people of all genders. We all deserve to love who we wanna love.

  • I left a 14yr relationship & became a single Mum in 2017.

  • My ex-partner is a farmer, and I lived in a small regional town on a 7000acre grain and sheep farm for 10 years.

  • Divorce is hard in ways I never expected or anticipated. I felt freedom and expansiveness going into this new chapter, right alongside despair, fear and grief. The grief was particularly unexpected, and still hits at unsuspecting times, as grief often does.

  • I have a Bachelor of Social Science and a Cert III & IV in Fitness. I have worked in Community Development, Health Promotion, Event Management and Community Recreation and Fitness.

  • I started my current business in 2019, as a solo parent, navigating a difficult divorce and property settlement, whilst homeschooling. To say it’s been a slow burn is an understatement! It's not quite a 'thriving' business, but it’s a human business, and it supports my little family in so many important ways. Every client, class and workshop has brought me joy, left me humbled, and taught me something, and that means a lot.

  • When I tried Transpersonal Breathwork for the first time in 2012, I was pregnant with my 2nd child. I felt so much clarity, relief and peace within myself after that session, that I kept coming back for more. It allowed me to explore my internal world and learn about myself in the most empowering way.

  • I care about Breathwork and the simplicity of it. It can help people get through tough times and understand themselves better, and it is accessible to all of us. But there is a lot of bs in the healing and spiritual community (which Breathwork is a part of), and I often feel like I don’t fit there. Which makes me think, if you don’t feel like you fit in that space, then you’ll probably fit well with me.

  • I am neurodivergent, as are my children. This means that our brains deviate from society’s expectation of ‘typical’ or normal. We embrace our neurodivergence – we do not pathologise it. Many of the people I love most in the world are Autistic and ADHD. They have the most beautiful hearts and minds. Diversity is beautiful.

  • I love training Parkour with my kids SO much. It is a beautiful point of connection and care for us, and I am so grateful that I share this love of Parkour with them. We train in parks, playground, nature and urban environments all over Perth - everywhere!

  • I travelled to Seattle, USA in 2019 to present at Art of Retreat, which is an amazing gathering of Parkour and movement coaches from all over the world. I presented on Neurodiversity and Inclusivity, and it was an incredible experience. And let me just say that Parkour people really know how to PLAY!

  • I love super hero movies and binge watching TV series. I get just as excited about snuggling up to watch something as I do about jumping around outside!

  • I have never broken a bone, but I did nearly bite my tongue clean off when I was a kid. I have a gnarly tongue scar to show for it.

  • I started playing the flute when I was 11 years old. I went on the study a Bachelor Music Education in 1999 but dropped out in my first year. I play very occasionally now. Being creative is so nourishing.

  • I completed a Bachelor of Social Science in 2002 and obtained my Certificate III & IV in fitness in 2009. I worked in community development, health promotion, and the fitness industry before becoming a mother.

  • I have always been passionate about building community, creating events, bringing people together and nurturing compassion and love for others.

  • I will always do my best to create accessible spaces and services for my clients. I stand against racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, body shaming and fat shaming. There will always be things for me to learn and unlearn, and I will always welcome open and helpful discussion around accessibility and inclusion.

  • My beautiful sister Brenda died when I was three years old, and this shaped many of my thoughts and fears around death.

  • I am equally fascinated by, and terrified of death. I want to talk about it more, along with grief and loss. None of us are getting out of here alive, so why not talk about it more so that we can support each other better.

  • To die wise, without fear, would be a good death.

  • I try to live with an open heart and an open mind. Play and joy are important to me, and I wish for everyone to be able to find ways to access play and joy in their life. Every one of us deserves that!

  • I run Breathwork and Parkour classes and workshops throughout Perth, Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia, the world, with online options available, (and an eagerness to travel!)
